I am interested in starting the HCG program in my office, but have been hesitant due to concerns regarding appropriate workup and management of thyroid hormone imbalances that may occur. I listened to the webinar that Dr. Schwartz presented a few weeks ago and have the following questions:
1. What specific tests are you checking when you say "bio-markers"?
2. If someone shows no thyroid/adrenal dysfunction prior to starting the HCG diet, how can you maintain integrity of their metabolism during the HCG diet as we know that dieting disrupts the T4 to T3 conversion?
3. Do you retest the hormones, nutritional status and biomarkers after completion of the HCG program?
4. Where can I get specific information on the 500 calorie diet?
